Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, met with Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group Autumn Meetings.
Ambassador Nader Zaki, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty emphasized the deep, historic, and fraternal ties binding Egypt and the GCC states. He stressed that the security of the Arab Gulf states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security and that Egypt attaches the utmost importance to the security and stability of these sisterly nations, rooted in the historic fraternal bonds shared by both sides.
The two sides also agreed to continue strengthening mechanisms for political consultation—in implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February 2022 and the Joint Action Plan between Egypt and the GCC for the 2024–2028 period—thereby fostering regular consultation and the coordination of positions on issues of mutual interest.
