Address by President Sisi at the Luncheon for African Leaders and Delegations Participating in the African Union Coordination Meeting
10/4/2026

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi hosted a luncheon in honor of the African heads of state and delegations participating in the 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, as well as leaders from financing organizations and the business sector who took part in the "Alamein-Africa Business Forum."

Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, Official Spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the President delivered a welcoming address, the text of which follows:

"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

Brothers and sisters,

I welcome you once again to your second home, Egypt. I would like to commend this format, which brings me together with my brothers—Their Excellencies the participating heads of state—alongside a distinguished group of delegations, leading African businesspeople, and representatives of major international companies operating on the continent.

On this occasion, I address a message to the international companies participating with us today—alongside African business leaders—affirming that Africa today is no longer merely a consumer market; rather, it is a promising partner in manufacturing and technology. This is particularly true given the continent’s abundant youth—who constitute the majority of its population—a youth that is aware, educated, and ambitious, seeking better opportunities."
