Ambassador Nabil Habashy, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, met with Jochen Flasbarth—State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development—during his visit to Germany. The two sides reviewed Egyptian-German development cooperation in the fields of technical education, vocational training, labor mobility, and regular migration.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the existing partnership with the Ministry, commending the role of the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration, and Reintegration. He emphasized the Egyptian government's aspiration to develop the Center into an integrated "one-stop shop" for qualifying Egyptian personnel and connecting them with job opportunities, as well as expanding cooperation regarding the recognition of Egyptian qualifications.

For his part, the German State Secretary affirmed his country's commitment to strengthening the development partnership with Egypt and acknowledged its pivotal role in the region. He noted the German labor market's need for skilled personnel and Germany's readiness to expand pathways for regular migration and joint vocational training, as well as the importance of continued coordination on this matter during the labor mobility forum scheduled to be held in Egypt next month.

As part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation on labor mobility, the Deputy Foreign Minister signed a Letter of Intent with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labor of the Free State of Saxony, aiming to establish a framework for regular, safe migration and labor mobility from Egypt to the state.
