Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, hosted a meeting of the "R4" regional group at the Egyptian Mission in New York. The meeting was attended by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan; Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Türkiye; and Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia. The gathering took place on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Ambassador Nader Zaki, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty emphasized the need to intensify efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring full and safe freedom of navigation—a cornerstone of global economic stability and the security of international trade—and underscored support for efforts to reach a sustainable understanding that fosters regional security and stability while sparing the region further escalation and tension.

The ministers agreed to continue close consultation and coordination on regional issues of mutual interest, in a manner that supports efforts to enhance security, stability, and peace in the region.
