Sheikh Ayman Abdel-Ghani, Acting Deputy of Al-Azhar, inaugurated the Electronic Da'wah Unit at the Islamic Research Academy on Wednesday, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed El-Gendy, Secretary-General of the Academy, Dr. Mohamed El-Dweiny, former Deputy of Al-Azhar, and a number of leaders from the Islamic Research Academy, under the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.

The new unit comes within the framework of Al-Azhar's efforts to develop its da'wah tools and keep pace with the rapid changes in the digital sphere, and to address contemporary intellectual challenges, in a way that contributes to addressing doctrinal, intellectual, and behavioral deviations, through a conscious da'wah discourse that combines the authenticity of the Al-Azhar methodology with the requirements of the modern age. Sheikh Ayman Abdel-Ghani affirmed that Al-Azhar is keen on maintaining an active presence in cyberspace, considering it one of the most important arenas for shaping awareness in the modern era. He pointed out that the Electronic Da'wah Unit represents a qualitative leap in institutional da'wah work.

He said: "The battle for awareness today is being waged in the digital space. Therefore, it was imperative for Al-Azhar to possess its modern tools to reach people wherever they are and to present a sound da'wah discourse that addresses doubts, fortifies minds, and reinforces values ​​and ethics, in accordance with Al-Azhar's moderate and balanced approach. We will not leave the electronic arena to those with deviant ideas or extremist rhetoric; rather, we will be present with a scholarly and da'wah message that combines authenticity and modernity."
