President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's aspiration to further develop its partnership with the OECD in the areas of economics, investment, competitiveness enhancement, and governance, which contributes to supporting economic and institutional reform efforts.
This came during President El-Sisi's meeting today with Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the OECD, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development. Also present from the OECD were Manal Korine, Director of the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, and Karim Daho, Deputy Director of Global Relations and Cooperation. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the President welcomed the Secretary-General's visit, emphasizing Egypt's appreciation for the longstanding cooperation with the organization in economic and development fields, and for the support it provides for economic reform efforts and achieving comprehensive development in Egypt, particularly through the Country Programme for Cooperation established in 2021.
