President El-Sisi Commends Growing Momentum in Relations with Russia, Especially in Trade and Joint Projects

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi commended the growing momentum in bilateral relations between Egypt and Russia, particularly in trade and joint projects, most notably the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project and the project to establish a Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, among other projects that reflect the depth and unique nature of Egyptian-Russian relations.

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's meeting today with Nikolay Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Russian Maritime Council, in the presence of Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport; Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad; and Ambassador Fayza Abou El-Naga, Advisor to the President for National Security Affairs. From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by Yuri Matveev, Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation Embassy in Cairo; Sergey Vakhrukov, Director of the National Maritime Policy Department of the Russian Federation; Yevgeny Anushin, Deputy Director of the National Maritime Policy Department of the Russian Federation; and Konstantin Manasenko, Advisor to the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.

The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the President began the meeting by welcoming Patrushev and his high-level delegation, expressing Egypt's pride in its strategic relations with the Russian Federation and emphasizing his deep appreciation for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
