Dr. Sweilem met with the Spanish Ambassador to Cairo to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of water management, exchange expertise, and build capacity. During the meeting, Dr. Sweilem reviewed the water challenges facing Egypt due to limited water resources, population growth, and the negative impacts of climate change. He noted the Ministry's adoption of innovative policies and procedures to achieve optimal water resource management through the implementation of the second-generation Water System 2.0 pillars, which focus on enhancing reliance on modern technology and supporting digital transformation in water management.

He also emphasized the importance of the participation of Spanish companies and the "Smart Irrigation Management Models Development Project" team in the week's events, to enrich discussions and promote the development of constructive solutions to water challenges.
