On the instructions of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, met with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, during his official visit to Egypt.
Minister Abdel-Aty praised the momentum in strategic relations between Egypt and the Russian Federation across all fields, including with the Republic of Tatarstan. He noted the significant developmental progress witnessed in the Republic of Tatarstan, particularly in the industrial, technological, and agricultural sectors, and emphasized the commitment to strengthening economic ties with both the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with companies from the Republic of Tatarstan, increasing training programs, technology transfer, and capacity building, which would contribute to localizing these industries within Egypt. He pointed to the importance of attracting investments in the logistics, agriculture, oil and gas, and petrochemical sectors, stressing the need to develop agricultural cooperation mechanisms, including increasing Egyptian exports of agricultural products to the Republic of Tatarstan and enhancing cooperation in agricultural engineering and mechanization, especially in light of Egypt's plan to establish a regional logistics hub for grains and energy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed his hope for an increase in the number of charter flights between Kazan and Egyptian tourist destinations, which would contribute to boosting Russian tourism from the Republic of Tatarstan.
