The Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 173rd "Zad Al-Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza" convoy today, Thursday, carrying several trucks of urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This is part of its ongoing efforts as the national mechanism for coordinating aid entry into Gaza.
On its 173rd day, the convoy carried approximately 4,945 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including about 2,185 tons of food baskets and flour, over 1,355 tons of relief supplies, medical supplies, and medicines, and more than 1,405 tons of petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Gaza Strip. The Egyptian Red Crescent also delivered essential winter supplies, including more than 5,810 winter clothing items and over 17,285 tents to shelter those affected.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present on the border since the beginning of the crisis, as the Rafah crossing has never been completely closed from the Egyptian side. It has maintained its readiness at all logistical centers and its ongoing efforts to deliver more than 900,000 tons of humanitarian and relief aid, thanks to the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers.
