New Gas Field Discovered in Egypt with Reserves of 2 Trillion Cubic Feet
4/7/2026

Initial estimates indicate the presence of approximately 2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 130 million barrels of associated condensate.

The Dennis W1 discovery is located 70 kilometers offshore, in waters 95 meters deep, and less than 10 kilometers from existing infrastructure, allowing for significant integration with the existing infrastructure to accelerate development.

Similar to the neighboring Temsah field, which has been in production since 2001, this discovery features a high-quality, sandy reservoir with a net thickness of approximately 50 meters. This discovery underscores Eni's commitment to supporting Egypt's national objectives of enhancing reserves and increasing gas production, thereby strengthening the country's energy security.
