The churches of Cairo were filled with celebrations and joy today, Sunday, as they marked Palm Sunday, also known as the Feast of the Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. The crowds welcomed him with palm branches and spread their cloaks on his path to Jerusalem.
Children, the elderly, and young people participated in the celebrations and the Palm Sunday Mass, praying for Egypt's unity and continued victory.
Churches displayed palm fronds at their entrances and icons of Jesus Christ entering Jerusalem, amidst a large and enthusiastic reception from people of all ages. Everyone in Cairo's streets participated in making crosses, crowns, and many other decorations characteristic of the feast, all crafted from palm fronds.
