The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, strongly condemned the illegal decisions and measures taken by the Israeli occupation in the occupied West Bank, which aim to impose illegitimate sovereignty, entrench settlements, and create a new legal and administrative reality.

The Council affirmed that these violations constitute a direct threat to the Palestinian people and seek to accelerate attempts at the illegal annexation of Palestinian lands, in blatant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy. The Council clarified that all unilateral measures aimed at changing the legal, historical, and demographic status of the Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, are null and void and have no legal effect.
