International Criminal Plot to Smuggle 200 Kilograms of Drugs Across the Southern Border Foiled

The Anti-Narcotics, Weapons, and Unlicensed Ammunition Department detected a highly dangerous international criminal gang attempting to smuggle large quantities of narcotics into the country for distribution.

The criminal gang consisted of 21 highly dangerous criminals, 18 of whom held various nationalities. They used mountain passes and desert tracks along the country's southern border as smuggling routes.

Following legal procedures, the gang members were tracked, and ambushes were set up, resulting in their arrest. They were found in possession of approximately 200 kilograms of various narcotics, including cocaine, heroin, hashish, crystal meth, and a quantity of narcotic pills. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately 110 million Egyptian pounds. The necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
