Pope Tawadros II thanks President Sisi for attending Mass and congratulating the Copts on Christmas

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, thanked President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for attending Mass at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ and for congratulating the Copts on Christmas.

This came during the Christmas Mass sermon presided over by Pope Tawadros at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital.

Pope Tawadros II also thanked – in a speech delivered on his behalf by Bishop Jeremiah, General Bishop and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center – former President Adly Mansour for receiving a congratulatory phone call on the occasion of Christmas. Pope Tawadros II also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Speakers of the House of Representatives and the Senate for their Christmas greetings, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, His Eminence Dr. Nazir Ayad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, religious leaders, the Egyptian Family House, all ministers and governors, heads of judicial bodies and specialized national councils, security leaders, diplomats, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, public figures, and media representatives.
