As part of the integrated planning for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which the Ministry of Transport is implementing on the Ring Road, the Ministry continues to review the components of the project's model stations. These stations are designed to be integrated service and development centers, including parking areas, waiting areas, and commercial activities, thus contributing to providing distinguished services to residents of the areas surrounding the stations and to BRT users.
In this context, the Ministry of Transport reviewed the BRT station at the intersection of the Ring Road and Fayoum Road, considering it one of the important pivotal stations within the project's route, due to its strategic location serving a large segment of the population and the transportation traffic to and from Upper Egypt and the western Delta.
The Ministry explained that the station site includes several key components, including:
1. The shuttle bus station at the intersection of the Ring Road and Fayoum Road.
2. The Upper Egypt and West Delta bus terminal belonging to the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport.
3. A private bus waiting area.
4. Administrative and service buildings.
5. A shuttle bus charging station.
6. Minibus parking areas.
