Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior, visited His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, at the Cathedral in Abbassia, to offer his congratulations and those of all Christian citizens on the occasion of Christmas.

The Minister and the police force expressed their sincere congratulations and pride on the occasion of Christmas, praising the national role of the Egyptian Church in strengthening feelings of love and affection and affirming the unity of the social fabric of the ancient Egyptian nation.

The Minister of Interior emphasized that the cohesion of the Egyptian people, with their unity, diversity, and patriotism, has been the impregnable fortress that has thwarted the plots aimed at fragmenting their social fabric and unity throughout history.
