Maspero Celebrates the New Year with the First Live Program from the River Studio

The Maspero River Studio witnessed the filming of its first live program today, following the airing of several pre-recorded programs in recent weeks.

Throughout Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Egyptian Satellite Channel will broadcast a live open segment in celebration of the New Year 2026. The program will be presented by Heba Shamel and Noha Marwan.

The Maspero River Studio was inaugurated in October 2025 by Ahmed El-Moslemany, Chairman of the National Media Authority, in the presence of Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy, Chairman of the National Press Authority, Magdy Lashin, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, and Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of Television.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy, Chairman of the National Press Authority, Magdy Lashin, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, and Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of Television. On the other hand, Channel One continues to present several special New Year's Eve programs. Tonight, it will feature a concert by singer Marwa Nagy, who will perform many of Umm Kulthum's most famous songs. The program will be presented by journalist Jumana Maher. Channel One will also present an evening with the renowned actress Lobna Abdel Aziz on the program "Hadith Min Masr" (A Conversation from Egypt), edited by journalist Mohamed El-Shaba and presented by journalist Dr. Doria Sharaf El-Din. Tomorrow, on the first day of 2026, Fatima Khalil and Walaa Ghanem will present a special program with the cast of the musical play "Dabien Fi Sout El-Set" (Melting in the Voice of the Lady). They will host poet and writer Dr. Medhat El-Adl, the songwriter and director Ahmed Fouad. The play stars Asmaa El-Gamal, who portrays the older Umm Kulthum, and Malak Ahmed, who portrays the younger Umm Kulthum.
