The Media Production City pavilion at the Red Sea International Film Festival, currently being held in Jeddah on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia, witnessed numerous meetings and discussions between the city's official delegation and a number of festival guests, including academics, directors, and producers—prominent figures in the Arab and international film and media industries. Abdel Fattah El-Gebaly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Media Production City, received Mr. Faisal Baltair, CEO of the Red Sea Film Festival Foundation. The meeting addressed avenues for future cooperation between the two parties, exploring new avenues for collaboration. During the meeting, El-Gebaly highlighted Media Production City's technical and scientific capabilities and its readiness to provide all necessary facilities and services to those overseeing the Red Sea Film Festival. He also emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise. El-Gebaly also met with Mr. Georgy Probokov, CEO of the Moscow Film Complex, and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed ways to activate the protocol signed between the Egypt Film Commission at Media Production City and the Moscow Film Complex. This protocol facilitates the exchange of expertise and visits, and promotes the city's capabilities, services, and facilities offered to international film production companies for filming in Egypt. The Egypt Film Commission serves as the official body responsible for issuing all filming permits, in coordination with relevant authorities. Following the signing of the cooperation renewal protocol with Effat University, El-Gebaly met with Dr. Mohamed Ghazala, Head of the University's School of Cinematic Arts. Dr. Ghazala praised the signing of the protocol, emphasizing that this step is not merely administrative cooperation, but a strategic move that provides university students with a significant opportunity for academic engagement within a real production environment at Media Production City, "the Hollywood of the East." He added that this partnership with the city, with its vast resources and expertise, offers university students an unprecedented opportunity that contributes to their academic and theoretical preparation, equipping them to confidently enter the media field.
