The 85th "Zad Al-Izza" aid convoy enters the Gaza Strip
12/2/2025

The 85th convoy of humanitarian aid trucks began entering the Gaza Strip through the secondary gate of the Rafah border crossing, heading towards the Kerem Abu Salem and Auja crossings, in preparation for its entry into the Strip.

An official source at the Rafah border crossing in North Sinai stated on Tuesday that the trucks were lined up in the waiting area as part of the "Zad Al-Izza...From Egypt to Gaza" convoy. He noted that the trucks were being inspected by the Israeli occupation authorities at the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, southeast of the Gaza Strip, before being allowed to enter the Strip.

The Israeli army announced a 10-hour "temporary truce" (Sunday, July 27, 2025), suspending military operations in parts of the Gaza Strip to allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, mediators (Egypt, Qatar, and the United States) continued their efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement for the Gaza Strip and an exchange of prisoners and detainees. This culminated in an agreement reached in the early hours of October 9, 2025, between Hamas and Israel on the first phase of a ceasefire agreement, based on US President Donald Trump's Sharm el-Sheikh plan, brokered by Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and with Turkish mediation.
