10/28/2025

Minister Plenipotentiary Tariq Al-Nabulsi, Director of the Department of Development and Social Policies at the League of Arab States and a member of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, said that the conference "Implementing the Arab Plan for the Prevention and Reduction of the Dangers of Drugs on Arab Society: From a Social Perspective" comes in implementation of the decision of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, with the aim of strengthening joint Arab social and development work, guided by the pioneering Egyptian experience in this field.

Al-Nabulsi explained that the Arab Plan is one of the important Egyptian initiatives presented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse. He emphasized that holding the conference in Cairo represents an extension of the Arab League's efforts to achieve the desired development in Arab societies. He added that the plan's social perspective focuses on reducing demand for drugs and rehabilitating and reintegrating recovering addicts into society, thus strengthening the cohesion of the Arab social fabric.

It is the first Arab plan to prevent the dangers of drugs. The plan was prepared by the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, in coordination with the League of Arab States and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
