His Eminence, the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed el-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zakat and Charity House, inspected the preparations for the relief convoy being sent by the Zakat and Charity House to the Gaza Strip, before its departure at dawn tomorrow, Tuesday, to support our Palestinian brothers and sisters in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Grand Imam said that this convoy expresses the solidarity of the Egyptian people with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who have been facing a stifling humanitarian tragedy for nearly two years due to the ongoing aggression and restrictions on the means of a decent life. He affirmed that Al-Azhar will continue to support the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause with all its might.
