Foreign Minister Holds Talks with US Counterpart in Washington
7/31/2025

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington. The two ministers discussed ways to develop the close bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The two ministers reviewed ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries. Minister Abdel Aty praised the results of the Egyptian-American Business Forum, held in Cairo last May with the participation of more than 50 US companies, including 12 companies participating for the first time in the Egyptian market. This reflects the Egyptian state's commitment to attracting investment and strengthening its economic partnerships with the United States. The two ministers stressed the importance of continuing coordination regarding holding a new round of meetings of the Joint Economic Commission and holding a new edition of the Egyptian-American Business Forum in the coming period, which will enhance the prospects for economic partnership between the two friendly countries.
