At the conclusion of his official visit to the UAE, Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a meeting in Dubai with Song Yu, Chairman and CEO of the Chinese United Energy Group (UEG), Eng. Kamel El-Sawy, the company's Regional President for Africa, and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting addressed UEG's keenness to enhance its investment expansion within the Arab Republic of Egypt, taking advantage of the positive and attractive investment climate provided by the country. The meeting also addressed the successes achieved by the strategic partnership between the company and the Egyptian petroleum sector in Iraq, which encourages it to explore new horizons for cooperation and expansion in regional and international markets in partnership with Egypt.
