Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, held side meetings with José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain; Dr. Shaye Mohsen Al-Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen; Maria Tripodo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy; and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
During his meetings, Abdel Aty emphasized the importance of capitalizing on the momentum accompanying the Peaceful Settlement Conference for the Palestinian Question and implementing the two-state solution to increase the pace of recognition of the Palestinian state and restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
