Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, will chair the second ministerial meeting of the "Khartoum Process" today, Wednesday, which Egypt has chaired since April 2024. The meeting will be attended by ministers concerned with migration from the member states of the Khartoum Process, which coordinates and consults on issues related to migration from East Africa to Europe.
The "Khartoum Process" includes 40 member states, including the European Union countries, Switzerland and Norway, the Horn of Africa and East Africa countries, the European Union Commission, and the African Union Commission. This is in addition to a number of international organizations that are partners of the process, such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
