In a move that reflects Egypt's regional and international standing, MP Mohamed Aboul Enein, Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, was elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. The election took place during a session held in Spain over the past two days, in the presence of King Felipe VI of Spain and the heads and representatives of parliaments from 38 countries of the Union.
