Zamalek escaped defeat in stoppage time, snatching a hard-fought 1-1 draw against visiting El Gouna on Wednesday in the second round of Group A of the Cairo Capital Cup group stage.

Both goals came in the second half, with Ali El Zahidi opening the scoring for El Gouna in the 59th minute, and Mahmoud Hamdy (El Wensh) equalizing for Zamalek in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the second half.
