Russian news agencies quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump could meet this month, although a face-to-face meeting would take time to prepare.
Peskov said the talks between the United States and Russia hosted by Riyadh on Tuesday were an "important step" towards reaching a settlement over the war in Ukraine.
But he said relations between Washington and Moscow must first be revitalized before they can be restored.
