The incoming Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, Ambassador Fumio Iwai, and his delegation were welcomed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to talk about ways to strengthen collaboration between the two nations in the areas of scientific research and higher education.
The meeting covered joint projects between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Higher Education, particularly the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (EJ-JUST), a leading academic and scientific research hub in the Middle East and Africa. Both parties emphasized the university's significant role in fostering growth in Egypt and Africa, as well as the value of the scholarships it offers to African students.
The discussion also discussed the Egyptian-Japanese University's participation in the Tokyo International Conferences on Development in Africa (TICAD) and how its outstanding contributions have led to its advancement.
