The US State Department has warned of Iraq being dragged into a regional conflict due to recent attacks by "armed groups" in Baghdad on Israel.
The US State Department stated, according to Alhurra News Channel, today, Tuesday, that it had communicated with Baghdad regarding the attacks by "armed groups" on Israel.
According to Alhurra Channel, this comes at a time when Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that he had sent a letter to the UN Security Council urging it to pressure the Iraqi government to put an end to attacks on Israel by "Iranian-backed factions."
Iraqi armed factions claimed responsibility on Monday for launching four drone attacks against targets in northern and southern Israel. These factions often claim responsibility for drone attacks on Israel, which has been intercepted by its air defenses. However, in early October, a drone launched from Iraq killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded 24 others at a military base in the Syrian Golan Heights.
