Aboul Gheit: The Arab-Islamic Summit will be a message of support to the Palestinians and the Lebanese
11/10/2024

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said that the Gaza tragedy will take years, if not decades, to recover from, while the circle of fire has expanded to another Arab country, burdened with its crises, namely Lebanon, with the increasing threat of igniting a comprehensive explosion in the region due to regional confrontations.

Aboul Gheit added, in his speech during the preparatory ministerial meeting for the Arab-Islamic Summit scheduled to be held tomorrow in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, that everyone is looking forward to the summit, which will be held on Monday, being an opportunity for the voice of the Arab and Islamic worlds to be loud and clear, after a year and more of the indiscriminate killing practiced by Israel and the reckless revenge and collective punishment, without any plan other than destruction, and after a year of helpless silence or timid appeals, while remaining silent about this massacre is no longer possible.

The summit, according to the Secretary-General of the Arab League, seeks to send a clear message to the whole world that the situation can no longer tolerate silence, that silence over these massacres is complicity in the crime, that all the pressures exerted on the occupation to stop the war machine were not enough, and that the world will not tolerate these fires that the leaders of Israel are igniting in the region to achieve their internal political goals.
