Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, held a meeting with members of the National Committee for Youth and Climate formed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Ministries of Environment and Foreign Affairs and with the support of the United Nations in Egypt.

Yasmine Fouad expressed her pride and appreciation for the activities carried out by the National Committee for Youth and Climate as commissioners for climate issues in all forums at the national and international levels and their enthusiasm to exert more effort in this file, pointing to the importance of integration, coordination and joint work between the two parties to participate in the Climate Conference Cop29, in a positive manner that ensures the appearance of Egyptian youth in an honorable manner, especially since Egypt, through the Minister of Environment, is responsible for facilitating climate finance negotiations, which is a great responsibility, as this conference is called the "Financing Conference".

During the meeting, Dr. Yasmine Fouad listened to the activities and roles that the committee members will play at the COP29 Climate Summit, where each of them explained the file they are responsible for at the conference, including topics of adaptation, mitigation, losses and damages, the carbon market, the climate finance file, and the latest developments in these topics.

She clarified some information related to climate issues, stressing that Egypt has adopted the idea of ​​launching a voluntary carbon market through the Egyptian Stock Exchange to facilitate the possibility of companies that achieve a reduction in their emissions to benefit economically from this reduction.
