Mohamed Youssef announced the death of his brother, the great artist Hassan Youssef, this morning, Tuesday, where he said via his Facebook account: "To God we belong and to Him we shall return, my older brother, the artist Hassan Youssef, passed away a short while ago, may God have mercy on him."
Hassan Youssef is an Egyptian actor who acted and directed many films, and was famous in the sixties for his roles as the "naughty boy".
He turned to directing in the seventies, where he directed several films, some of which he acted in, and most of which were co-starred by his wife Shams Al-Baroudi.
Some of those films were objected to by the censorship of artistic works, such as the film Al-Jabban and Al-Hob.
He also presented several television and theatrical works, the most famous of which is his role in the series Layali Al-Helmiya and his role in the series Imam Al-Du'at about the life story of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy.
In January 2024, he confirmed his retirement from acting as a result of his son’s drowning death in 2023.
