The environment minister is traveling to Saudi Arabia to attend the Council of Arab Environment Ministers' 35th session.

The Environment Minister, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, left for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the 35th session of the Council of Arab Environment Ministers. As the head of the Council's Executive Office for 2024–2025, the Minister of Environment will be there. In addition, the environment minister attends the first ministerial meeting of the Green Middle East Initiative, which is being held in front of a group of Arab ministers in charge of environmental affairs, at the invitation of Saudi Arabia's Environment, Water, and Agriculture Minister, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadli.

The Environment Minister, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, is eager to draw attention to the need of uniting Arab efforts in addressing a range of environmental issues. She also supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the COP16 Desertification Conference, which is one of the most significant issues facing the region. Furthermore, she emphasizes the significance of uniting Arab efforts during the upcoming COP29 climate conference, building on the successes of the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh and the COP28 in Dubai, as well as monitoring the implementation of environmental dimension activities and natural resource priorities in the Arab region.

The Minister of Environment pointed out that the Council will discuss the Arab approach to climate change issues, through the Arab Action Plan to address climate change issues, Arab action in climate change negotiations, and the draft strategy for financing and mobilizing climate action for Arab countries 2030.
