Ambassador Omar Amer, Egypt's Ambassador to Athens, met with Niki Keramos, Greek Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, where they discussed ways to develop areas of joint cooperation between the two countries, and the actual start of implementing the seasonal labor agreement, which contributes to providing many job opportunities in a legal and safe manner for Egyptian workers in Greece, which in turn contributes to reducing illegal immigration.

The Minister of Labor stressed Greece's keenness to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the agricultural field and secure all rights for Egyptian workers, and welcomed the bringing of more Egyptian workers in the fields of construction, tourism, and other fields of work in Greece, praising the efficiency and professionalism of Egyptian workers.

It was also agreed that the Greek side would continue to complete the payment of all social insurance for Egyptian citizens who had previously worked in Greece.
