The European Union Ambassador to Cairo, Christian Berger, said that the Egyptian-European Investment Conference, which was held in Cairo last Saturday and Sunday, confirmed the European side’s keenness to strengthen the economic and trade partnership with Egypt and cooperation between the private sectors on both sides, noting that the conference witnessed the signing of 29 joint agreements and memorandums of understanding worth $49. He stressed that Egypt is a favorable gateway for European exports to African countries in light of Egypt’s distinguished geographical location and its membership in the African Continental Free Trade Area and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern African Countries (COMESA), noting that the European Union is also keen to cooperate with Egypt in the field of transportation.
