Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with the delegation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); To discuss the development of faculties of education in Egyptian universities, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed El-Shennawy, acting president of El-Galala University, and Dr. Mohamed El-Sharqawy, assistant minister for finance and investment, at the ministry’s headquarters.
The minister affirmed the fruitful cooperation over the past years with the United States Agency for International Development in many joint educational and research projects that were implemented in the fields of higher education and scientific research, stressing the ministry’s keenness to strengthen more aspects of cooperation with the agency, including: the project to develop colleges of education, training The graduates of these colleges have the latest teaching methods in line with the successive developments in educational methods in the world.
The Agency's delegation reviewed the features of the Distinguished Teacher Initiative, which is estimated at about $50 million; With the aim of strengthening the program for preparing and developing teachers in Egyptian universities, and providing them with distinguished skills to support student education, which contributes to raising the efficiency of Egyptian government institutions, universities and research centers.
